📋Tips
- How to keep pigs in a blanket warm - To keep the cookies warm during your gathering, leave them uncovered in a 200°F oven until ready to be served.
- Pat the sausages dry. Ensure the sausages or hot dogs are dry before you wrap them. This is especially important if they have been previously frozen.
- Allow some space on the baking tray. Make sure to allow a few inches in between each of the pigs in a blanket as the dough will expand and you don’t want them to bake into each other.
- Add some seasoning. Don’t be shy about adding seasoning to the dough whether it be sesame seeds, poppy seeds, everything but the bagel seasoning, or whatever else you like.
Storing Leftovers
- 🍱To Store. Leftover pigs in a blanket will keep for 3-4 days in an airtight container or covered in plastic wrap in the fridge.
- 🥶Freezing. Freeze for up to 3 months. Flash freeze on a cookie sheet and transfer to an airtight container.
- 🔥To Reheat. Thaw in the fridge overnight and reheat in the oven or toaster oven. You can reheat in the microwave but your dough may get a little soft.
