This tasty Turmeric Rice is not only light and fluffy but also incredibly easy to prepare. Infused with the rich flavor of savory chicken broth and enhanced with the aromatic blend of garlic and turmeric, it serves as a fabulous side dish that's ready in a mere 20 minutes!
1cupsbasmati rice, or your choice of long-grain rice, rinsed and drained
1tablespoonunsalted butter, or coconut oil
2tablespoononion, finely diced
3garlic cloves, minced
½teaspoonturmeric powder
1 ½cupschicken stock, or vegetable stock
¼teaspoonsalt, or to taste
A pinch of black pepper, or to taste
parsley for garnish, optional
Instructions
Rinse the rice before cooking to remove debris and starch.
1 cups basmati rice
Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.

Add turmeric powder, then coat rice evenly and lightly toast.
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
Pour in stock, season with salt and pepper, mix well, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove from heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, then fluff with a fork.

Notes
To Store. Place leftover cooked rice in an airtight container and refrigerate to 4 days or frozen for 3 months.
To Reheat. Sprinkle rice with water, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave on medium power for a few minutes. Alternatively, warm in a saucepan on the stovetop. If frozen, thaw overnight in the fridge before reheating.
