Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 425 F so it’s ready for the potatoes.
Wash and dry the sweet potatoes: Scrub well to remove any dirt and pat dry completely.
Pierce the potatoes: Use a fork or knife to make 4–5 holes all over each potato.

Season the potatoes: Place them on a foil- or parchment-lined baking sheet, rub with olive oil, and sprinkle generously with salt and pepper.
