Ingredients
  

Strawberries

  • 2 pound fresh strawberries, sliced
  • ¼ cup sugar

Shortcakes

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup milk

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • Toss the strawberries: Toss the sliced strawberries with the sugar and set aside for 30 minutes to release their juices.

  • Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix the dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  • Cut in the butter: Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
