Ukrainian Lazy Cabbage Rolls

COOKRITA

These Ukrainian lazy cabbage rolls, or "Lenivie Golubtsi," are a hearty, one-pot meal. A deconstructed take on traditional cabbage rolls, they’re made with tender cabbage, ground beef, tomatoes, onion, and garlic for a healthier twist.

Heat a large pot or Dutch oven with cooking oil. Add onions and cook until softened.

Add ground beef, breaking it into small pieces, and cook until browned.

Stir in garlic, spices, and bay leaves. Add tomatoes, sauce, broth, vinegar, Worcestershire, and maple syrup. Bring to a boil.

Add cabbage, bring to a boil, then simmer covered for 15-20 minutes until tender but slightly crisp. Stir in cooked rice and simmer for 3 minutes.

Remove from heat, discard bay leaves, and serve with parsley and sour cream.
