📋Tips For The Best Turmeric Rice

  • Rinse it. Before cooking, it's essential to rinse the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch, which prevents the grains from sticking together during cooking.
  • Don't stir. To prevent mushiness, refrain from stirring the rice during cooking.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes after cooking before fluffing with a fork.
  • Lid closed. Maintain the lid closed until the rice is fully cooked and rested to preserve steam for best results.
  • Use white rice. For this turmeric rice recipe, it is best to use white rice rather than brown due to its longer cooking time and different liquid proportions.

After cooking, keep the rice covered for 5-10 minutes to absorb remaining moisture for a tender, fluffy texture.

How To Rinse Rice

There are two methods for rinsing rice:

  • Place the rice in a colander and rinse it under cold running water until the water becomes less cloudy.
  • Alternatively, rinse the rice in a bowl. Add enough water to cover the rice, stir it with your fingers, and then pour out the water. Repeat this process 3-4 times until the water runs clear. Drain the rice completely in a colander, and it's ready to be cooked!

Eight (8) servings with one (1) cup of uncooked rice?
This recipe sounds good, yet your serving size isn't realistic unless someone is serving it with a protein and* two additional side dishes.
Tbh, the calorie count is deceiving considering 8 "servings" are included in the total calculation.

Usually 1 cup makes about 2 cups cooked rice and 8 servings is as a side portion. If you want a more precise calculation, there are a lot of online nutrition calculator you could try?
